How to Verify a Real MEA Recruitment Agency (Avoid Fraud)

Finding an overseas job can be life-changing, but unfortunately, there are many fake agents looking to scam job seekers. The best way to protect yourself is to only work with an agency licensed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.

What is an MEA License?

An MEA License (also known as a Registration Certificate or RC) is a legal authorization given by the Protector General of Emigrants (PGE) to recruit Indian citizens for work abroad. Our license number is RA5501045.

How to Verify an Agency on eMigrate

1. Go to the official Government of India eMigrate portal (emigrate.gov.in).

2. Navigate to the "List of Active RA" or "Search Recruiting Agent" section.

3. Enter the agency name (e.g., "Hanman Travels") or the RC number (e.g., "RA5501045").

4. The portal will display the agency's current status. If it says "Active," the agency is legitimate and authorized to recruit.

Red Flags of Fake Agents

- They promise guaranteed visas without an interview.

- They ask for huge advance payments into personal bank accounts (not company accounts).

- They operate only through WhatsApp and have no physical office.

- They offer tourist visas and tell you that you can convert it to a work visa later (this is illegal and highly dangerous).

Always verify before you pay. Hanman Travels has been a registered agency since 1992, and we pride ourselves on ethical, transparent recruitment.
